Caring for Burmese lacquerware

Burmese lacquerware is built up from dozens of layers of thitsi resin over a bamboo or wood core. Treated kindly, a piece will outlast its owner.

Keep lacquer out of direct sun, dust it with a soft dry cloth, and avoid soaking. A little of our natural wood wax, used sparingly, brings back its depth.
